Pinhal Conde da Cunha House

The limitations imposed by the dimensions and construction parameters of small plots in low-quality developments often result in buildings that lack internal spatial richness and fail to fully explore meaningful relationships with the surrounding exterior.

The proposed design concept seeks to challenge this norm by establishing a harmonious dialogue between interior and exterior spaces. By extending spatial experiences and fostering dynamic connections within and beyond the built environment, the design capitalizes on the modulation of a compact volumetric block. This approach orchestrates a thoughtful interplay of solids and voids, both internally and externally, to maximize the synergies between these realms.

At first glance, the structure conveys the impression of a monolithic solidity. However, as one navigates through its spaces, this perception dissolves, revealing an intricate spatial tapestry enriched by the thoughtful use of natural light. Solar orientation played a pivotal role in shaping the design, ensuring that the spatial dynamics are both functional and atmospheric.

Additionally, the project integrates a fluid, organic element that envelopes the main building and extends to incorporate the annex/garage. This volumetric gesture establishes a cohesive relationship between the auxiliary and primary structures, creating a unified architectural language. The final result is a residence defined by pure, balanced lines and an elegant composition that distinguishes itself from its surroundings through its clarity of form and materials.
